The video actually begins with that dude making a comment about how all the lines aren't voiced.Prepare to be enchanted by a world where the choices you make and the paths you choose shape your destiny. Here's an example from the beginning of the game when the player meets Aloth:Ĭan anyone here say that they do, in fact, hear speech for any of the lines that aren't spoken in this interaction? I certainly doubt it's a bug-it's just that the voice-overs have been implemented in a disjointed, unpredictable manner. Once "continue" is clicked, though, there's a chance that the lines on the next page won't be. To be clear, if any dialog on a page is, indeed, spoken, then the entire dialog is spoken on that page. I've searched for bugs pertaining to voiced dialog, and the only thing I found was the bug described in this thread where one or two words would be missing from the beginning of a sentence. Without bugs, there are no instances of just the first or last line voice acted. Originally posted by psychotron666:You've actually hit a bug. But you will get main dialogue voice acted, then ask a dude question that isn't voice acted (likely more dialogue options added later in development).Īnd the only voice acted lines are ones that do with main or major quests, as well as pretty much all the dialogue in the expansion areas. Like, I liked it, I really, really liked it, but it was just so boring. Typically, I like to read with the voice, but even that is a jarring experience in this game, since the text is written descriptively, as if it were a novel. I gave up and just read every line of text, instead of waiting for a voice that never comes. ![]() Thanks Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire > General Game Discussions > Topic Details. I haven't beaten the game so I don't want much that will impact the story or gameplay too heavily. I don't really mean new character ones, but some good QoL, UI or etc. There's no discernable, logical pattern to any of it. Gonna start playing the game again and wondering if there's some good mods around. Sometimes the first and last are voiced, but with unvoiced lines in-between. Sometimes only the first line is voiced, sometimes only the last. While one sentence may be voiced, the proceeding line after clicking "continue" may not be. Yes, the main characters do have voiced lines throughout, but the game is very inconsistent when it comes to what is voiced and what isn't.
